Upgraded to Drupal 4.7.4

Posted on | November 25, 2006 |

Accidentally, I upgraded from drupal 4.7.3 to 4.7.4, which means yes, I’m currently running the latest version. However, caution must be taken.

When I upgraded it and started testing it, I got the following error every time a submit was executed.

Validation error, please try again. If this error persists, please contact the site administrator.

To find out the cause took me some time, but luckilly I figured it out. Usually after upgrading, I get to restore most of my custom 4.7.3 junk back into the drupal installation folder, such as the uploaded files and the modules. However, the trick is that you should not overwrite the drupal core files at all. In other words, when getting your custom modules back to your new installation, don’t overwrite the current drupal modules that came along with 4.7.4.

Cheers.
