Telesales Logic

by JPierre on August 13, 2006

It's Sunday, and hell ya, I had to go to the office to finish some pending stuff. Being in Egypt, most of the people work on Sundays (we don't as we have to work on Fridays; the official weeken here). Anyways, I get this phone call, a woman, with an "ugly sound" asking to talk to the "Purchasing Manager". We don't have such a position in our office so I decided to play along, and the conversation was as follows:

Her: Could I speak to the Purchasing manager?
Me: What?
Her: I would like to speak to the purchasing manager?
Me: What is this about?
Her: We are XXXX, we would like to offer you some paper, printer toners and ink and office stationary.
Me: We are an environmental friendly company. We do not use paper.
Her: How about printer toners?
Me: We don't use paper? What will I do with toners?
Her: How about office stationary like staplers, pencils, pens, rubber…
Me: Hard to find any use for them without paper.
Her: OK
Me: Bye
Her: Bye

Yeah, and not to mention the monthly call from the Egyptian Yellow Pages monkeys. The biggest idiots in town.
