What and how are these people thinking? - Wonders

Posted on | January 16, 2006 |

I was reading around the aggregated posts when this blog grabbed my attention. The title of the post was in someway “hopeful” so I gave it a closer look. Giving a quick eye glance through the rest of the blog, I read something that a Lebanese / Armenian singer by the name of Maria has been banned to perform in Egypt for singing bare-footed on her birthday cake. I do agree that it’s not something ethical to do, but this is not something to leed to a ban, is it?
That really didn’t bother me a bit, the last of my worries is whether Maria sings or does whatever she pleases again. What really made me gasp is the site that wrote regarding that cheap, news. The site was nothing filled with bullshit articles that really makes you wonder, who the f*** really bothers to read this, and worst of all who in hell is writing these nonesence bullshit.

Another weird news in the second main national newspaper, was that the Danish Government sent an appology letter to the Egyptian embassy in Copenhagen, appologizing about the unethical, untruthful and wrongful article(s) that were published in some Danish INDEPENDANT newspaper(s). I find this really fair, but it makes me wonder, has anyone seen the articles in our INDEPENDANT newspaper(s).

One last wonder, did any one of you watch today’s episode of AL 7AQIQA (The Truth) on Dream 2? They were hosting former Egyptian president’s Anwar El Sadat’s daugher, Ms. Kamilia El Sadat. I must say that I was impressed by her, but the host of the show was really some narrow minded journalist trying just to pin out mistakes just to make some noise, made me want to puke.

Ahhh, and we wonder…

Man, the article they are talking about and the big issue is that a cartoonist from the newspaper drew a cartoon of the prophet Mohammed. Apparently this is illegal. There has been a HUGE dispute about this here in Denmark, because it raises a problem between two cornerstones in danish culture

    1) Our respect for all other cultures
    2) Our strong belief in absolute freedom of speech and expression
