Egyptian Website - Firefox NOT Friendly

Posted on | January 3, 2006 |

It really bothers me to find out that most Egyptian websites are not firefox friendly. Well let’s say that I do have some big list. I believe that the biggest problem behind this inconvenience is that most Egyptian Web Developers & Designers lack to a very great extend the touch for Simplicity & Perfection.

Shame …

Firefox isn’t exactly a paragon of clean standards implementation, mind you. What you end up seeing isn’t the page’s responsibility alone, the browser bears some responsibility too.

    Youssef:
    Thanks for you comment.
The browser does indeed bear some responsability. But did you ever wonder that these pages look OK on Mac as well?
The pages are not clean. If it has at least a little simple perfectionism in them they wouldn’t be so chaotic on FF.
Also, I think that designers / developers should put FF in mind when working on websites. Unless they intend to have them made for IE users only which is lame.
Good and clean work shows the same on IE and FF.

Taking ff in mind is a continuation of the incorrect approach. Web site developers should design to standards and then let the browser developers implement these standards properly; that’s the whole point of standards.

Which site is b0rked, incidentally? Have you tried it with konqueror (only browser which in its latest incarnation passes the acid test)

    You just said it.

“Web site developers should design to standards”

That’s the problem mate, not the browser.

Will post you regarding my test with Konqueror.

I’ve been trying to download Konqueror but the site seems to be down.

PS. IE6 does not pass Acid.
If the website looks fine on IE6 and does not look fine on FF, where is the problem then?

    Youssef;
Eventhough it makes totally no sense, I did try it with Konqueror, and my oh my. FF showed those pages even better.

Yes, Konqueror passed Acid 2, but what if the pages aren’t done to the required standards.
